Members of the nursing profession have intensively participated in the of HIV/AIDS pandemic not only at the national scale but also at the international scale. In May 1983, under the auspices of the International Council of Nurses (ICN), nurses from different parts of the world involved in the fight for the health of populations adopted a resolution at the meeting of WHO in Geneva.
The resolution emphasized the critical role of the nursing profession in preventing the spread of HIV, providing care, and drastically diminishing mortality due to it.
SASSA grants
Eligibility must either be connected to any existing SASSA grants or the vulnerability status of the household. The possible group of beneficiaries to benefit must, in the main, comprise older persons’ grant recipients, children’s support grant beneficiaries, disability grant recipients, and SRD beneficiaries meeting the income requirements.
Extremely vulnerable households or those identified as municipal indigent registers could be included. No application is required for these beneficiaries; SASSA will use existing information already at its disposal in order to decide on the qualification.

Distribution will commence on December 10, as the scheme has a phased rollout. Prepaid individuals will receive a digital or hard copy token to redeem at authorized vending outlets or e-commerce platforms.
Consumers with postpaid connections will automatically deduct R500 from their monthly municipal account. The public should remember to check that their electricity meter numbers and personal information are up to date to avoid wasting time obtaining assistance.
